A DIFFERENT KIND OF TO-DO LIST
After reading the Bible yesterday, I clung to 1 Peter 5:7. It was the reminder my day needed: TURN EVERY CARE INTO A PRAYER. Therefore, I planned to share that thought today too with a Bible picture of it. However, I was led deeper…
It is quite obvious that this picture below was posed & set up.
Aren’t our days like that too though? Aren’t they often what we set them up to be…
I start every day in the quiet of God’s presence. Through prayer, reading the Bible and writing, I start in peace as my house sleeps.
Then, I come downstairs…
It usually starts when I hear tiny footsteps tiptoeing around which soon turn into what sounds like furniture being moved or a stampede of elephants making their rounds through the house. As I step away from the dawn’s quiet, the realities don’t take long to rush in. The demands, busyness, craziness, concerns & the messes start so early, adding to the already overflowing to-do list. But no matter how crazy & loud it gets, my responses don’t need to be made out of that stress. They can still be made in LOVE. Because…
WHAT IF…
~ the demands were really opportunities to bless
~ the busyness, an opportunity to connect
~ the craziness, an opportunity to seek God & be thankful
~ the concerns, opportunities to pray
~ the loudness, an opportunity to love
🤍 Oh what a very different to-do list that would be!
As a child, I remember playing with dozens of dolls & praying that I would be a real wife & mom one day. I prayed to be a teacher & writer too.
I AM HER.
I am here… wife & mom.
I am here… teacher & writer.
Therefore, now I must pray to truly be HERE.
I believe in SETTING UP each day in the Word & with the Lord. But it isn’t enough.
Yet HE IS ENOUGH! So I need His strength & wisdom all day long.
Because the days are often how we set them up to be, but they are also in what we choose to see. They are in our carry through & how we carry on too.
So join me as I…
set up the day in His presence
🤍 turn each care into a prayer
🤍 carry on in LOVE
🤍 pray to be present
and
🤍 smile
at that LIST OF OPPORTUNITY that awaits me.
