A Little of My Story

ABOUT JEN

I am a believer in Jesus and that with God, all things are possible, a wife of an amazingly honest and supportive husband, a mama of three (a food allergy mama if I may add), a special education teacher, a writer and now, author who is starting to share the ideas that have been placed upon my heart.
(Nehemiah 7:5).

I am also whatever else life throws our way as we learn to love this imperfectly beautiful mess.

I have started to publish my two-part series The Art of a Messy House starting with the children’s collection as well as actively sharing devotionals and other inspirations via my website blog and Instagram (@theartofamessyhouse).

My Motivation

Faith is every day. Every day is faith.

I used to think faith was out of my league. Sure, I prayed and talked to God growing up. My journal was even titled “Dear God” and written to him. But, so much held me back. I doubted and thought: who am I? I used to be intimidated by opening the Bible and of where to even start. I used to think the Bible and everyday life were separate, but I had it wrong. They are and should be connected every day and in every way.

Then, I had my own kids. And boy do they ask questions…questions about everything including Jesus. Therefore, I knew I needed to learn more, I knew I needed Him more. Then, a few other mammas mentioned to me that their kids were also asking about faith. And so, I continued to learn straight from the source: the Bible. That is more behind the story of this series of imperfectly perfect stories for families connecting simple life lessons with God’s word. This site and series is about no longer hiding. Instead, it is about embracing that “everyday faith” every day, allowing it to cover us in such truth and love.
