A Victory for Allergy, Celiac Access

The following article discusses the settlement between Lesley University in Massachusetts and the Department of Justice in December 2012.   This decision served as a foundation for the ensuring the rights of those living with celiac disease and food allergies. It also discussed recognizing food allergies as a disability and the necessity to see beyond the label that many let the word “disabled” put on them.  As a Special Education teacher, I know the importance of accepting the needs of the individual so that everyone has the ability to live the life that they deserve.  Since we are ALL different, we ALL have different needs.  With that being said, this article gives me hope for the future of food allergies so we smile on…
