When to Test for Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)

Aside from the complications of food allergies, the introduction of solids to my son’s diet has not been the easiest of experiences for some other reasons too.   For example, he has often gagged on new foods and textures, refused others, and this past week, cried as if in pain after drinking or eating at times.   For now, we believe that in my son’s case, it has to do with sensitivity to new textures and recently, the stomach “complications” he experienced were due to having the flu. However, Eosiniphilic Esophagitis (EoE) has always been on the back of my mind.  The following is an article that I found about the topic and when to test for it.
